As we head into a New Year every single one of us has hopes and dreams for the months to come. We also have doubts and fears… Can we truly make this year different? Can we make our life better? Can we fulfill our goals?
I’m going to share with you something that I wrote years ago – something that is a constant encouragement to me as I work toward creating the life I dream of… How many times have you been discouraged because someone else didn’t see the brilliance of what you created, thought of, or wanted to do? How many times have you walked away from something because you decided it wasn’t a good idea, too? Consider these…· The movie Star Wars was rejected by every movie studio in Hollywood before 20th Century Fox finally produced it. It went on to be one of the largest-grossing movies in film history. · As a child, Sylvester Stallone was frequently beaten by his father and told he had no brains. He grew up an unhappy loner. He floated in and out of schools. An advisor at Drexel University told him that based on his aptitude tests he should pursue a career as an elevator repair person. It’s not a bad profession but it’s certainly not where “Rocky” ended up! · Einstein was criticized for not wearing socks or cutting his hair. He didn’t speak until he was four, and didn’t read until he was seven. One observer noted, “He could be mentally retarded”. · An expert said of Vince Lombardi: “He possesses minimal football knowledge. Lacks motivation.” · Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and preferred playing his own compositions instead of improving his technique. His teacher proclaimed him hopeless as a composer. · Walt Disney was fired from his job as a newspaper editor for lack of ideas. He also went bankrupt several times before he created Disneyland. · Henry Ford failed and went broke 5 times before he finally succeeded. · Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women, was encouraged to find work as a servant or seamstress. She would certainly never be a writer. · In 1944, the director of the Blue Book Modeling Agency, told modeling hopeful Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn Monroe), “You’d better learn secretarial work, or else get married.” So… what are your ideas? Your thoughts? Your dreams? Who cares if anyone supports what you want to do? The important thing is for YOU to believe. For YOU to ignore the people who say you can’t do it – and DO IT ANYWAY! It takes courage. It takes persistence. It takes believing in the “voice inside” when no one else does. Ideas, dreams and visions are planted within you because you have the ability to make them happen. You’ll learn, grow, scramble, fail, and get back up again! The important thing is to simply never give up. The people I told you about never did – and they made great things happen!

Have you made me cry?? Or laugh?? Or made me so very glad I have the best readers in the world??
If you’ve written a review of one of my books, you probably did. 🙂 Every time I get a little overwhelmed by the pressures of research or writing, I go to Amazon and read my Reviews. They never fail to give me the motivation and energy to continue forward.
As I bring # 12 (Horizons Unfolding) to life, it would mean the world to me if you would go and leave a review for one (or more) of The Bregdan Chronicles. I will consider it a personal message from you to me…
I’m even going to make it easy for you. 🙂
Write a Review for Storm Clouds Rolling In
Write a Review for On To Richmond
Write a Review for Spring Will Come
Write a Review for The Last, Long Night
Write a Review for Carried Forward By Hope
Write a Review for Glimmers of Change
Write a Review for Shifted By The Winds
Write a Review for Always Forward
Write a Review for Walking Into The Unknown
Write a Review for Looking To The Future
Some of the reviews I received this week (they brought such joy to my heart!):

The history of the civil war is taught to all of Americans as children. Authors like Ginny Dye offer personal and pertinent perspectives of the character of the people who lived through it. This book is an extremely well written personal account! The characters are brought to life with clarity and heart. Read this book! I couldn’t put it down, and will begin another as soon as a finish thanking Ms. Dye for sharing her talents. You have one more loyal reader, Ginny. Looking forward to more sleepless nights. |

I have completed the series and would definitely recommend. It was educational but in story format. I tried to read other books in between but found I had to go back to the series. Will definitely be watching for the next one in 2018.

I am totally addicted and have been since book 1. I listen to them on my phone and am wondering when the audio version will be available?

Hi Vicki. I am thrilled to tell you that the audio version of Looking To The Future was completed on Christmas Eve! I approved it, but it takes 5-6 days before it will be available on Amazon. I’ll send out an email as soon as it’s live. You don’t have long to wait! 🙂
Blessings,
Ginny

Hi – I have books 1-10 so far and was wondering if there are any plans to include e-books in a give-away. Just a thought. Thanks for your time 🙂

I really like ALL of your Bregdan Chronicles series. In general, I like historical fiction because we get the historical facts in story form. I read them on my Kindle and have already pre-ordered #12 so am anxiously waiting for it to appear! You are a great writer and so honest of life and your growing up (as I just finished reading a lot of your blog since the beginning). Really would have loved to meet you when you were in Vancouver, WA; however, I have physical limitations that make it difficult sitting in many chairs. Keep up the great work! I thoroughly enjoy them!
